Kickstarter:

How would you like the power to conveniently control all your smart devices with a single hand? With CheerTok, you can! This powerful pocket touchpad can be used as an air mouse, touchpad, presenter, laser pointer, and more. Take it with you anywhere – for business meetings, live streaming, selfies, and more. CheerTok is the perfect remote control for any screen! And with customizable shortcuts, CheerTok elevates screen-control to a new level, freeing your hands and saving you time! This single compact controller satisfies all your needs for work and entertainment, streamlining your daily life with convenience and fun!

The copywriting is so bad that it is entertaining.

Its universal compatibility supports Mac, Windows, tablets, smartphones, smart TVs and even vehicle screens. Control them all without being stuck within arm’s reach of your screens!

You usually use “within’s arm reach” to describe something being close. I don’t think you use it to describe having to stick close to your devices because you need to control your slides. I’m not sure why they are talking about screens either.

Every good presenter has a key goal in mind – to engage their audience. The last thing you want when you are doing a presentation is a bored, uninterested audience! With CheerTok, you never need to worry about that. The built-in laser pointer allows you to make your points clear while maintaining everyone’s attention and keeping the meeting lively!

Are they saying that people will no longer be bored as long as we have CheerTok? Well, they are actually referring to the built-in laser pointer specifically. So you don’t really need CheerTok, just a laser-pointer to entertain your audience?

Red flags

A quick look at the comments revealed a lot of red flags for this project. You see concerned backers raising questions and spam trying to bury the red flags. The spammy comments are either from a promotion campaign getting people to leave comments, or fake account

Let’s give you some background. The company behind CheerTok is Beijing CheerDots Technology Co, Ltd. They have a successful Indiegogo campaign for their previous product CheerPod and won the 2020 Red Dot Design Award for it.

They claim that the CheerTok has won the Red Dot Design Award in 2022, but results for the 2022 Red Dot Design Awards is not out yet.

What are the alternatives?

The CheerTok costs USD 35 on Kickstarter, but they keep reminding backers that the price will increase soon. Sales tactic? Perhaps. Retail price is estimated to be USD 59.

We encourage you to check out other presentation remotes on Amazon. They cost less than the CheerTok, with some a mere fraction.

We previously covered ZeroMouse that claims to do something similar, and it turned out to be a scam. So buyers beware.
