MagSnap Wallet is a little misleading

This is a good product with a likeable brand persona, and a cheeky video that makes you want to back the product. However, the team let itself and fans down with how they choose to present the product.

The video for the campaign is rather misleading. It shows that you can pop the MagSnap Wallet on and off easily. But if you check the campaign details, you will realise that the MagSnap Wallet doesn’t work with MagSafe. You need to stick the MagSnap Plate on your phone first before it will attach to your phone magnetically.

The alternative is to use the OhSnap Case that lets you mount your MagSnap Wallet without having to stick the MagSnap Plate on your phone. This means the product is not restricted to only iPhones with MagSafe. Hurray!

My beef, however, and that of some backers, is that the video and naming of the product makes it seem like it works with MagSafe. They don’t mislead you deliberately. They just leave out the details and let us mislead ourselves.
